REBID, LONGMEADOW HIGH SCHOOL AIR HANDLER REPLACEMENT

The Town is soliciting bids for Longmeadow High School (LHS), Air Handler Replacement. The consulting engineer is NV5, Hadley, MA.  Bid documents are available from the Town of Longmeadow Purchasing Department, Attn: Chad Thompson, Procurement Manager, 735 Longmeadow Street, Suite 101, Longmeadow, MA 01106.  Those interested in this project are encouraged to register with the Purchasing Department to receive updates and addenda (cthompson@longmeadow.org, P 413-565-4185). Failure to acknowledge addenda may result in a bid rejection.

DCAMM certification of contractors is required for both the general contractor certified in HVAC, and the filed sub-bid contractor certified for Electrician.   The project shall be procured in accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 44A through Section 44J, inclusive.

There is an optional pre-bid conference scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 10:00am.   Gather promptly at the main entry of Longmeadow High School, 95 Grassy Gutter Road, Longmeadow, MA 01106.  Additional site inspection requests will not be accommodated.  The Covid-19 protocols as of the date of the conference will be enforced, which may include the wearing of face-coverings during the conference.  Masks will be provided as required.  

Sealed bids for the filed sub-bid Electrician shall be delivered to the Longmeadow Purchasing Department by the Filed Sub-Bid Deadline of Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 11:00AM.  Sealed sub-bids delivered should be labeled with the name and contact information of the sub-bidder on the outer envelope with the bid title ‘IFB-LHS Air Handler Replacement, Sub-Bid’ on the outer envelope. Bid submissions should include the completed Bid Submission Forms, a 5% bid deposit, the DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility, and the DCAMM Update Statement. Following the sub-bid deadline, bids received will be publicly opened in the auditorium of the same building where bids are delivered.  Late bids will be rejected. 

Sealed bids for the HVAC General Contractor shall be delivered to the Longmeadow Purchasing Department by the General Contractor Bid Deadline of Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11:00AM.   General Contractor bids should be delivered labeled with the name and contact information of the bidder on the outer envelope with the bid title ‘IFB-LHS Air Handler Replacement, GC Bid’ on the outer envelope. Bid submissions should include the completed Bid Submission Forms, a 5% bid deposit, the DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility, and the DCAMM Update Statement. Following the bid deadline, bids received will be publicly opened in the auditorium of the same building where bids are delivered.   Late bids will be rejected.

Every bid deposit shall be in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, or treasurer's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the “Town of Longmeadow”, for five percent (5%) of the bid amount.          

The successful General Bidder will be required to furnish a 100% performance bond, and 100% labor and materials payment bond as set forth in the specifications, with each bond executed in the full amount of the Contract Price.   Prevailing Wage Rates to be paid on the work of the project are established by a Schedule issued by the Division of Occupational Safety under the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce development as required per M.G.L. c.149, section 26-27G inclusive.    

No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) calendar days following the bid deadline without written consent by the Town of Longmeadow.

The Town of Longmeadow acting through the Town Manager, the Awarding Authority, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor informalities and to award a contract in the best interest of the Town of Longmeadow.
